Canopy Tour
Description:
Moving through the rain forest,
above the Arenal River Canyon, our tour offers all our clients an
unforgettable encounter with nature.
- 13 platforms reaching up
to 130 ft. in high.
- 9 cables reaching up to
230 ft. high.
- 9 cables with a maximum
length of 1033 ft.
- 1 68 ft. long hanging
bridge between platforms.
Tour Days:

Departure Schedule:
Morning: 8:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m.
Afternoon: 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Length of the Tour:
2 hours approximately
Includes:
Transportation in a private bus until the first
platform, specialized guide and safety equipment.
What to Bring:
Closed shoes, light and comfortable clothes, and
in case you decide to ride a horse, wear long pants.
* At the end of the tour you can chose to do a
horseback ride and a rappel (147 ft. high)
Logistics:
- Guests staying at the different hotels in the
area will be picked up 15 minutes before the scheduled departure
times or according the location.
- We take them to the point to start the trip,
once at the first platform, the client will put on the safety
equipment and will be briefed on the tour and safety measures.
- The explanation will cover the following
points:
· Safety:
Safety position to be taken when transporting on the cables.
· Way in which
the client must break before reaching the platform, indicating at the
same time the level of breakage the cable has.
· Steps to
follow to reach the platform in a quick and safe way.
· Location of
the emergency exits located in each of the platforms.
- The entire run between platforms takes
between 1 ½ and 2 hours, depending on the number of people taking the
tour. The total length from the first to the last platform is 5900
ft.
- The canopy tour ends when the client reaches
the rappel, next to the river.
- Cr Arenal Canopy Tours offers the client the
option to do the rappel at the end of the tour. In case they wish to
do the rappel, the guide will proceed to give instructions. The same
equipment used for the canopy will be used for the rappelling.
- The rappel is a single run of 157 ft. It can
be done in a fast and exciting way, or slow and fun. The duration of
the rappel is about 30 minutes, depending on the number of people
doing it. Once the tour is over, whether it be canopy or rappel, the
client walks 65 to 70 ft. before arriving where the bus and the horses
are.
- The client has the option of returning in the
bus or by riding a horse. Client must notify the guide at the
beginning of the tour. If riding the bus back, it will take 10
minutes to reach the front desk or 25 minutes on horseback.
